3 Transformative Morning Habits
Mornings?
Are they a scramble for you?
Do you repeatedly smack the snooze button?
Chug coffee like it was going out of style, then dash out the door?
Sound familiar?
I have three ridiculously easy habits that may completely change your game.
And no, I’m not talking about some fancy app. Just simple, everyday stuff.

It started with a glass of water and led to a calmer, more focused version of me.
If you’re tired of the morning chaos and craving a sense of control, these aren’t just tips — they’re the steps I took to reclaim my days, and maybe they can help you reclaim yours too.”
Let’s get to my 3 transformative morning habits.
3 Transformative Morning Habits: I Drink A Glass of Water
Leonardo da Vinci observed that “water is the driving force of all nature.”
As a Seattle area resident who knows rain, I tend to agree.
I prioritize a 12-ounce of cool, crisp water before the controlled chaos of my day begins.

My water ritual is a conscious reset.
- Rehydration. During sleep, my body loses fluids through respiration, sweating, and other metabolic processes. These phenomena lead to mild dehydration upon waking. Drinking water replenishes these lost fluids.
- Boosted Energy Levels. Dehydration can cause fatigue. Rehydrating in the morning can help you feel more alert and energized.
- Improved Digestion. Drinking water first thing in the morning can stimulate your digestive system, preparing it for the day’s food intake.
- Enhanced Mental Performance. Even mild dehydration impairs my cognitive function. Rehydrating improves my focus and concentration.
- Metabolism Support. Some studies suggest drinking water, especially cold water, can temporarily boost metabolism.
- Weight loss. Adequate hydration helps me lose a little weight.
2. I Move For 30 Minutes
Notice that I did not say exercise.
Instead, I get outside and walk for 30 minutes early in the morning.
This relatively non-taxing workout helps me stay on track to eat healthy.
I have better focus after my stroll.
My stress level drops.
I sleep better.
3. I Skip the Snooze Button
While there are times that I would like to roll over and get a few more zzz’s, I generally pop up as soon as my alarm sounds.
It is difficult for many, but if you hit that snooze button once, it can easily become twice or thrice.
Is that extra five or ten minutes helping you feel more rested and ready for the day? Really?

If I get a solid seven hours of sleep, I don’t have much trouble immediately awakening.
I prefer to awaken and have a more leisurely morning prep time (than rushing around).
And don’t even get me started on eating a healthy breakfast. I’ll save that topic for another day.
