Description
Meditation for health.
Meditation is “paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.” The concept seems so simple: Sit still, focus on your breath, and reflect. Meditation practices to relieve human suffering are not new. In the Indus Valley of South Asia, archaeologists found evidence of meditation in wall art dating from about 5,000 to 3,500 BCE. They discovered images of people sitting in what appear to be meditation postures. Images depicted individuals sitting on the ground, legs crossed and hands resting on their knees with eyes slightly narrowed but not closed. Over time, most of the world’s great religions adopt- ed the basic concepts of meditation.
Here are some popular types of meditation practice:
• mindfulness meditation • movement meditation
• spiritual meditation
• focused meditation
• mantra meditation
• transcendental meditation • progressive relaxation
• loving-kindness meditation • visualization meditation
In this e-book, you’ll learn about the types of meditation and their health benefits. Meditate for health!
